let go.

she knelt before the grey stone.
who did it belong to?
how did she get there?
a red flower laid before her.
she picked it up.
one word engraved.
in imense detail.
that didnt matter.
the word was "hope"
hope...
dead?
a red flower in its memory.
a flower?
it rots....
Denial dead.
she laid her head on the cold grey stone.
she closed her eyes.
hope, gone
reality sinking in.
trickles of diamond down her cheeks
RED, now black.
Gone.
Just in that moment she saw a red ballon fly in the sky
someone must have let it go.
Let it go.
